Senior Associate Director of Finance San Diego, CA
An established employer in the San Diego area is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Director of Finance. In this senior leadership role, you will support the Finance & Business Support department by providing oversight, strategic guidance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and enforce office policies, procedures, and best practices.
* Provide comprehensive support across all departmental functions.
* Lead the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining strong communication with operational teams.
* Represent the accounting team in internal and external meetings and presentations.
* Coach, mentor, and guide direct reports to support their professional growth.
* Maintain financial records in accordance with established policies and regulatory standards.
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial reporting requirements.
* Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures with efficiency and precision.
* Implement and oversee internal accounting controls to safeguard financial integrity.
* Balance operational and administrative priorities while supporting team and company goals.
* Continuously support budget planning, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts; collaborate with departmental leaders as needed.
* Oversee preparation for financial audits and coordinate all aspects of the audit process.
* Ensure accurate recording and analysis of all revenue and expense transactions.
* Total direct reports: 12 (Finance, purchasing)

Skills and Requirements
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
* 5 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role.
* 3 years of leadership experience
* Strong understanding of hotel and resort accounting practices and operations.
* Proficient in financial software, spreadsheets, word processing, and email applications.
* Strong MS Excel experience - Macros and Pivot tables
* In-depth knowledge of Hotel/resort operations, services, and facilities
* Prior hotel, resort, or casino experience * Experience with Software - BirchStreet, OPERA Cloud, Unifocus, Book4Time, Excel, Silverware POS null
