Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Multi-Specialty Surgical Coder to join our clients' healthcare coding team. This role requires at least two years of hands-on coding experience in multiple surgical specialties, including but not limited to orthopedics, general surgery, cardiology, neurosurgery, and gastroenterology. A certification alone does not meet the qualifications—practical coding experience is required. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding and a deep understanding of payer guidelines, surgical coding complexities, and revenue cycle management.

Multi-Specialty Surgical Coder Responsibilities:
  • Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for surgical procedures across multiple specialties
  • Ensure proper documentation supports coding selections and compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer regulations
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, clinical staff, and billing teams to resolve documentation and coding issues
  • Review operative reports to ensure precise coding and optimize reimbursement while maintaining compliance
  • Research and stay current with evolving coding guidelines, NCCI edits, payer policies, and regulatory changes
  • Assist with denials management, audits, and appeals to ensure maximum reimbursement and compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations
Multi-Specialty Surgical Coder Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in surgical coding across multiple specialties (Certification alone does NOT qualify)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field preferred
  • Certifications: CPC or CCS
  • Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems, coding software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
If you meet these qualifications, we invite you to apply today!

Thank you,
