DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) in Pasadena, CA, is looking to hire an Inventory Technician with experience in fast paced research and development procurement who will aid in AWS’s effort to bring cloud quantum computing services to its worldwide customer base. This role requires an individual who can balance working and communicating with multiple stakeholders including internal teams such as finance, import / export teams and legal.


On this team you will wear many hats, work smart, and iterate quickly. We’re looking for someone who can define a vision for a technical and business opportunity and then execute on that vision. Successful applicants will have a strong background in inventory and inventory systems of heavy machinery / spare parts, lab supplies, testing equipment, capital assets, chemicals as well as scientific equipment and vacuum systems.

Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:


- Execute day-to-day inventory management tasks for Quantum Computing and site-to-site material transfers
- Monitor stock levels and execute replenishment orders based on established processes
- Communicate with internal customers regarding order statuses and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records by executing cycle counts and physical inventory checks
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements including chemical storage
- Arrange transportation for site-to-site transfers of inventory
- Update stock location and bin information in our inventory system
- Process improvements

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
