Job Description

The Floating Manager performs and directs overall restaurant management, and will travel to any of the seven Condon Companies Subway locations (Berlin, Brillion, Cleveland, Fond du Lac EzMart, Omro, Sherwood & Fond du Lac Walmart) on an as needed basis as dictated by business needs.

Directs staff to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are maintained. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Recruits staff and oversees training program. Responsible for inventory and money control systems – may establish inventory schedules. Responsible for local marketing initiatives – may contact prospective guests to promote sales. Maintains business records. Exceptional guest service is a major component of this position.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to, the following):

  • Performs all tasks and responsibilities of an Assistant Manager as outlined in the Assistant Manager Position description including providing a great customer experience while making sandwiches, operating the register, and following all food and sanitation guidelines.
  • Coordinates and supervises staff so that standards of cleanliness are maintained as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual. 
  • Manages a team of approximately 4 to 12. Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Recommends promotion, transfer, or termination of team members. May conduct written and verbal staff evaluations. 
  • Completes and posts the staff work schedules.
  • Recruits, rewards and manages staff performance as needed.
  • Communicates changes of food preparations formulas, standards, etc. to staff.
  • Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained and company safety and security policy are followed.
  • Maintains business records as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual. Analyzes business records to increase sales.
  • Supports local and national marketing initiatives.
  • Identifies and contacts prospective guests to promote sales.
  • Plans special events and promotions.
  • Completes University of SUBWAY® courses as directed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in restaurant operations with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, ability to deal with all levels of team members.
  • Computer knowledge is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday.
  • Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and up to 65 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.

Availability Requirements:

  • Must have flexible availability for scheduling
  • Must be available for both opening and closing shifts
  • Must be able to work beyond scheduled hours as business requires
