We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Chief Operating Officer to serve as a key leader in our organization, driving operational excellence and organizational growth. This C-suite leadership role reports directly to the CEO and will oversee multiple high-impact departments to ensure efficiency, innovation, and continued success.

Position Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the oversight and strategic leadership of the following departments:

• Membership
• Fitness
• Youth Programming (including Camp, After-School, Preschool, and Special Needs Programs)
• Athletics
• Facilities Management (including Capital Projects and Security)

The ideal candidate is an experienced, mission-driven leader with a strong background in operations, staff management, strategic planning, and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Growth:

• Collaborate with the CEO and C-Suite team to develop and implement operational strategies that enhance agency growth.
• Lead the development and execution of business plans, protocols, and performance goals for supervised departments.
• Work closely with the CEO, Senior Development Director, and Board Members to create a culture of giving and donor engagement.

Operational & Financial Management:

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Collaborate with the CFO and department directors to prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
• Track and analyze key performance metrics, preparing regular reports for the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors, and partner organizations.

Staff Leadership & Development:

• Directly supervise department heads, conducting regular meetings, performance evaluations, and goal-setting initiatives.
• Partner with HR on staffing matters, including hiring, training, and corrective action plans.
• Provide professional development opportunities to ensure a high-performing and engaged leadership team.

Community & Agency Engagement:

• Serve as an ambassador for the JCC, representing the organization at community events, networking functions, and agency initiatives.
• Lead committees, task forces, and lay-driven initiatives, fostering collaboration between staff, members, and stakeholders.
• Maintain proactive, effective communication across all departments through digital, written, and in-person channels.

Facilities & Security Oversight:

• Work closely with the CEO and CFO to manage capital projects and facility upgrades.
• Ensure the safety and security of all JCC members, staff, and visitors by implementing and enforcing best practices.
• Respond to emergency situations as needed, providing leadership and crisis management.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3-5+ years of leadership experience in a JCC or comparable organization.
• Strong background in operations management, staff supervision, and program development.
• Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, drive revenue, and optimize efficiency.
• Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

Convenient and accessible, our Center provides many opportunities for the Jewish community and all south Miami-Dade County residents to enjoy recreational, educational, cultural and social activities.We offer our members and guests the chance to meet and connect with individuals and families from all over. For fitness enthusiasts, our Fitness Center is a great place to play racquetball, train with a friend in the gym, play tennis or swim in our chilled/heated 25 yard outdoor swimming pool. Our Youth and Adult Building, home to a wide selection of adult programs and our children's department offers the young and young at heart a place to gather and socialize. Also, our Sablotsky Cultural Arts Center hosts visual arts exhibits and performance or all ages and focuses on bringing renowned Jewish artists, authors, and entertainers for the community to enjoy!
