About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Azure Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL solutions within the Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL, Spark/PySpark, Power BI, and other data tools, alongside a strong understanding of data engineering principles and a passion for delivering business insights.
ETL Development: Design, build, and manage ETL processes using Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, Notebooks, Storage Accounts, Event Hubs, Logic Apps).
SQL Development: Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support data validation and transformation tasks.
Data Auditing: Develop and schedule audit reports for data validation using Azure SQL.
Business Intelligence: Identify and resolve data inconsistencies; generate actionable insights through dashboards and reports.
Data Management: Understand data lineage, ensure data quality, and monitor job performance with prompt issue resolution.
Platform & Production Support: Provide support for development platforms and resolve production issues as needed.
Automation & Reporting: Contribute to the automation of data quality checks, bug fixes, tabular model development, and report generation (20 30% of overall effort).
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 5 7 years working in the Azure data ecosystem.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning, stored procedures, and quality audits.
Advanced knowledge of Azure services: Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Spark/PySpark, and Kusto.
Strong experience in building Power BI dashboards and delivering business-focused reporting solutions.
Deep understanding of ETL processes, data quality, data lineage, and governance principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience working in Agile environments, with a demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and apply critical thinking.
Strong documentation skills and the ability to clearly convey technical details.
Previous experience in the Microsoft ecosystem or Corporate Finance domains.
Experience working with geographically distributed teams and onshore-offshore models.
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and a proactive approach to learning emerging technologies.
