Tester 3

This position is responsible for developing and delivering testing services for concurrent projects spanning multiple agencies, offices, and teams. The position will support a new Client's Project Management Office initiative to develop Standard Operating Procedures for testing services. In addition, this position will provide testing services for a variety of Client agencies.

The Tester 3 is a member of a team that plans, constructs, and executes product tests, system tests, unit tests, load tests, volume tests, network tests, as well as works with others for release control processes. The more experienced Tester manages, plans, constructs, and executes tests and integrates with release control process. Testers have or gain significant business application knowledge.

Role Description:

1. Creates test models for product test and release control (plans, data, and scripts).
2. Conducts structured walkthroughs
3. Executes assembly or product tests.
4. Meets time estimates for assigned tasks.
5. Communicates accurate and useful status updates.
6. Follows quality standards.

8. Completes assigned tasks.
9. Develop contingency plans as needed
10. Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
11. Defines product test plans and criteria for acceptance.
12. Develops understanding of system business requirements supported by the Test team
13. Develops, updates, and maintains testing standards and procedures.
14. Resolves testing process questions / issues.
15. Assists in the planning, creation, and control of the test environments.
16. Conducts inspections; resolve issues.
17. Coordinates and executes assembly or product tests with the Test Team, Application Team and the Project Manager.
18. Assists Team Lead or Test Team Lead in monitoring estimated-time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals for assigned tasks.
19. Works with Test Team members to enhance their testing skills and build technical and business knowledge.
20. Updates and tests release installation procedures.
21. Aware of new developments in industry and processes and ability to apply to work as appropriate.
22. Determines time estimates and schedule for work efforts.
23. Defines and utilizes entry / exit criteria for testing.
24. Schedules the design of structured walk-throughs or inspections; resolve issues.
25. Works with users to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
26. Anticipates and resolves issues specific to the team.
27. Determines time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner.
28. Identifies and tracks issues, risks and action items.
29. Reviews and understands the Test Team work plan.
30. Assists in managing and directing Test Team processes.
31. Anticipates, identifies, tracks, and resolves issues and risks affecting own work and work of the Test and/or Application Teams.
32. Develop contingency plans as necessary.
33. Research problems before approaching the Team Lead or Test Team Lead for assistance.
34. Assists or guide Testers as needed.
35. Develop understanding of system business requirements supported by the Test team
36. Assists Application Teams to plan and execute component and assembly tests.
37. Participates in assembly or product test execution as required.
