Senior Data Scientist Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team and help us develop an innovative assistant for our client in the Life Insurance business.

The goal is to streamline their submissions processing by leveraging Large Language Models for classification of documents, identification of text inputs, schema mapping of table files, and user Q&A over documents provided.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and functionality of our AI-driven solution.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Solution Architect and Product Manager to make informed decisions on AI Agent architecture
• Review and assess existing EPAM accelerators to determine their suitability for the project
• Define preprocessing requirements for text and table documents to aid the ML Engineer
• Utilize and adapt existing implementations such as DIAL for Retriever-Answer Generator (RAG)
• Design and develop AI Agents for process orchestration tailored to project needs
• Create and refine AI Agents for advanced information retrieval, enhancing the accuracy of RAG
• Implement AI Agents for effective schema mapping of text files including xls and csv formats
• Conduct validation tests to ensure AI Agents meet required performance standards
• Provide support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and make necessary adjustments based on feedback
• Ensure all AI solutions comply with ethical standards and address potential risks

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in Data Science
• Proven experience in machine learning, AI, deep learning, NLP, and LLMs
• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries related to LLMs
• Demonstrated ability to develop AI Agents, including previous project involvement
• Deep understanding of ethical AI considerations and ability to foresee and mitigate deployment risks
• Exceptional communication skills and capability to lead discussions effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
• Experience in document classification and data extraction from diverse text sources
• Knowledge of schema mapping techniques and tools for structured data
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering functional and efficient solutions
• Commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies

Nice to have

• Experience with graph-based approaches to enhance information retrieval systems
• Background in the insurance industry
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
