Job Description

Are you passionate about leveraging clinical informatics to improve healthcare delivery? We're seeking a Principal in Clinical Informatics to lead the development of a new service line focused on enhancing care for U.S. Veterans. This role offers an exciting opportunity to create and implement innovative informatics solutions, transforming care delivery and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have served our country.

As the Principal in Clinical Informatics, you will spearhead efforts to establish cutting-edge informatics capabilities, blending technical expertise with strategic vision. You'll collaborate with a talented team and work closely with clients to deliver impactful solutions that align with their goals and priorities in healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll focus on:

Education & Training: Designing and delivering resources to enhance informatics knowledge and skills.
Human-Centered Design: Developing solutions tailored to the needs of users, improving adoption and satisfaction.
Change Management & Performance Improvement: Guiding clients through transitions to optimize processes and outcomes.
Clinical Informatics Workflows, Analysis & Policy: Refining workflows, conducting detailed analyses, and shaping informatics policies.
Technical Operations: Ensuring efficient and reliable operation of informatics systems.

There are also growth opportunities to lead in areas such as:

Informatics policy analysis and documentation
Interoperability and systems design
Risk management and security

Qualifications

We're looking for a professional with the following:

Education: An advanced degree in Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics, or a related field (MD or clinical background preferred).

Experience:
At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
A minimum of 5 years in clinical informatics, with experience supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal health clients.

Expertise:
Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical terminologies, and interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
Proficiency with data analysis tools and healthcare regulations applicable to the VA.
Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
Experience identifying and resolving risks and issues in clinical informatics initiatives.
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
