Position Summary

The Billing Specialist supports billing and reimbursement functions by maintaining accurate patient data, verifying insurance, and preparing claims. This role ensures timely, compliant billing practices that support the company’s operational efficiency and patient care goals.

Essential Duties

• Verify and review provider documentation for completeness
• Enter and update patient demographics and insurance information
• Confirm insurance eligibility prior to billing
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software - Athena
• Follow up on unbilled services promptly
• Maintain organized records and documentation
• Communicate updates and performance indicators to leadership
• Obtain/maintain required certifications
• Promote and support exceptional patient experiences
• Adhere to company policies and perform additional duties as needed

• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure
• Proficient with technology and Microsoft Office Suite

Requirements & Preferences

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of insurance and reimbursement experience
• Proficient with standard office equipment and software
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear
• Occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs
• Frequent walking, standing, reaching; occasional bending or crawling
• Must maintain professionalism and manage stressful situations effectively
