We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Math Tutor for elementary, middle school, and high school students. This is something to keep in mind as we value face-to-face interactions when possible, but we are happy to accommodate virtual sessions as well.
Job Requirements:
Teaching Certification: This position requires an NJ Standard Teaching Certification or NJ Special Education Certification. If you do not currently hold a teaching certification, please explore our other available positions.
Flexible Tutoring: Depending on the client's preference and location, you will teach students in their homes or online. The home office is based in Long Valley, but you'll be meeting students wherever is most convenient for them.
Subject Expertise:
Teach Math concepts for grades 1st to 8th.
OR, teach High School Math (9th-12th grades), including subjects like Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
Assessments and Test Prep: Quickly assess each student's level, helping with homework, quizzes, and
tests, and preparing them for upcoming exams.
Personalized Learning: Adapt lesson plans based on each student's needs, reinforcing classroom concepts and motivating them to stay focused and on task.
Professionalism and Communication: Maintain a high level of professionalism and work closely with families and colleagues to ensure the best educational experience.
Travel and Flexibility: You will meet students at agreed-upon locations and may be required to travel within a reasonable distance from your home for in-person sessions.
Online Tools: Use virtual tools to teach students when needed, providing a seamless experience for both in-person and online learners.
Experience:
Active or retired teachers with a NJ Standard Teaching Certification or NJ Special Education Certification are highly encouraged to apply.
Previous tutoring experience is preferred, but not required.
Experience with preparing lessons for both in-person and virtual tutoring settings is a plus.
