Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Baggage Systems Design Specialist to be based in Hunt Valley, MD .

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• The Entry-Level Baggage Systems Design Specialist will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing and implementing state-of-the-art baggage handling systems for airports around the world. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, project management, and system integration.
• Design and Documentation: Assist in the mechanical and electrical design of baggage handling systems, including creating installation drawings and design reports.
• Project Participation: Participate in project meetings and design reviews, contributing to the design, stakeholder engagement, and construction phases.
• Component Integration: Learn how various components from different suppliers are integrated into a system of systems that ultimately transports checked baggage from the ticket counter check in conveyors, through TSA screening and to the airplanes.
• Support and Collaboration: Work closely with multiple disciplines including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and civil teams to produce a fully coordinated set of documents to airport clients.
• Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform various ad hoc tasks as needed to support the project and team.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or in another related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in mechanical design, airport operations, process improvement and project-oriented work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Previous experience in the manufacturing or conveyor industry.

Additional Information

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Hunt Valley, MD. The selected candidate must be available to work in Hunt Valley, MD on a scheduled basis.
