We draw inspiration from an active coastal California lifestyle; an integration of fitness, creative expression and life. Our high energy fast paced retail environment is reflected in the clothes we make. We aim to inspire others to take on all aspects of their lives with clarity, enthusiasm and purpose…while having a lot of fun along the way. We are proud to be an outlet for opportunity and for personal growth and success.

Job Description

As Director, Sports Marketing, you will lead and evolve our sports marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, fan engagement, and long term brand equity. You'll develop breakthrough strategies across athlete partnerships, team sponsorships, cultural events, and performance-driven storytelling to strengthen brand relevance and credibility. This collaborative leadership role works closely with Brand, Creative, and Design teams to align initiatives with broader business goals. The ideal candidate has deep industry expertise, a strong network in sports, and a proven ability to craft impactful brand storytelling that connects with athletes and fans alike.

What you'll get to do:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the development and evolution of Vuori’s holistic sports marketing strategy, aligning with brand goals, product launches, and target audiences.
  • Own the full lifecycle of sports partnerships—including scouting, negotiation, activation, content creation, and performance analysis.
  • Identify emerging opportunities in sport and culture to drive brand relevance and resonance.
  • Champion Vuori’s athlete experience, fostering long-term relationships (with athletes, agents and teams) and delivering exceptional athlete service.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team focused on athlete engagement and sports activations.

Athlete & Partnership Management

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with athletes, agents, teams, and leagues to ensure authentic brand representation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Vuori athletes, ensuring integration into brand narratives and long-term loyalty.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to support athlete-led innovation and performance requirements.
  • Gather and share athlete insights to inform product development and brand alignment.

Campaign Development & Activation

  • Drive the creation of athlete-driven marketing campaigns that build cultural relevance and brand credibility.
  • Oversee planning and execution of high-impact activations, sports events, and hospitality experiences.
  • Partner with internal teams—including Creative, Social, PR, and Retail Marketing—to ensure consistent and cohesive storytelling across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Support on-the-ground execution of sports marketing initiatives, from strategic planning to operational support.

Cross-Functional Integration & Performance Measurement

  • Partner with cross functional teams to embed athletes into integrated campaigns across channels ensuring alignment with Vuori’s brand goals.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, brand impact, and partnership ROI.
  • Leverage data, consumer insights, and cultural trends to continuously optimize strategy and drive brand growth.

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or related field.
  • 12+ years of sports marketing experience, preferably with a focus on brand-side work in performance or athleisure apparel.
  • Established expertise in managing athlete partnerships, launching integrated campaigns, and driving brand affinity.
  • Proven success leading athlete, team, or league partnerships in a performance-driven category.
  • Strong understanding of sports culture, consumer and fan behavior, and the evolving role of athletes as brand storytellers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and navigate fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Established relationships within professional sports leagues, athletes, and agencies.
  • Passion for performance, sport, and innovation—both as a business and a lifestyle.
  • Willingness to travel for events, activations, and athlete relationship management.
