Job Summary:
Develops and implements departmental goals, aligning with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical standards.
Oversees operations, including patient care, technology, service levels, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality objectives.
Manages staffing activities: hiring, training, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and ongoing education.
Prepares and monitors departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding.
Coordinates internal and external audits.
Creates an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required (BSN preferred); Master's Degree highly preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
BLS required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required.
Current NC RN licensure required.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of RN experience.
Minimum 2 years of management experience preferred.
