Job Description

The Director, Marketing Strategy representing Disney Television Studios at Disney Entertainment Television, plays a pivotal role in driving awareness and conversions for our portfolio of properties across various platforms through paid and earned media campaigns domestically and internationally. This full-time position is based at our Burbank campus, and we are seeking an experienced Director of Marketing Strategy with a deep understanding of broadcast television, streaming, movies, and adult animation. As a pop-culture enthusiast, you will bring your strategic and creative marketing expertise to the table, working in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is not only strategic and creative but also highly execution-focused—able to translate big ideas into impactful campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of assigned series, becoming the go-to expert on all production and marketing efforts, ensuring seamless communication with cross-functional teams for successful show launches and relaunches.
  • Collaborate with internal and external platforms to ensure cohesive, impactful marketing campaigns that deliver measurable results for the studio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across various departments to drive the success of each marketing campaign.
  • Drive innovative ideas for content marketing initiatives, exploring fresh approaches to engage audiences and increase consumption across various platforms, from TV to digital.
  • Work closely with the studio series team and producers, maintaining open lines of communication throughout every stage of the campaign lifecycle, from inception to execution and long-term sustainment.
  • Lead and contribute to pro-social initiatives that reflect the core values and beliefs of the brand.
  • Collaborate with a talented and passionate team of marketers, driving creativity, collaboration, and success across all campaigns.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and new opportunities to continuously evolve and improve marketing strategies.
  • Inform and guide cross-functional initiatives, providing strategic insights that support all titles within the portfolio, and take ownership of managing each campaign from start to finish.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the entertainment industry, specifically in executing content marketing campaigns for studios, broadcast networks, or streaming platforms.
  • Expertise across multiple platforms, including TV, digital, out-of-home (OOH), and social media, with a proven ability to create integrated, multi-channel campaigns.
  • A strategic thinker with a deep understanding of how to engage and reach television audiences on both broadcast and streaming platforms, tailoring approaches to each medium.
  • A collaborative team player and problem solver, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels across functions.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of managing complex campaigns, solving problems, and delivering effective presentations.
  • Ability to quickly formulate and communicate strategic recommendations, backed by clear rationale, both verbally and in writing.
  • Agility in learning, with a comprehensive understanding of content marketing strategies across broadcast and streaming, with hands-on experience in both areas.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with the capacity to handle complex challenges and solve problems effectively in a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • A deep knowledge of both legacy and current television series, including expertise in scripted and adult animation content.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $151,000.00 to $202,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
