Job Summary:
The Finance Controller will oversee all financial activities of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and operations. This role is responsible for managing accounting functions, financial planning, budgeting, and internal controls. The Finance Controller will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and support decision-making processes to drive the organization's financial health and growth.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting and Analysis:Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial data.
Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with financial goals.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and BD financial policies in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaise with external auditors.
Implement and monitor policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.
Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the organization meets its financial obligations.
Optimize working capital and manage banking relationships.
Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support the CFO in developing long-term financial strategies.
Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial modelling.
Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, MBA, or CMA designation is preferred.
7+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
Experience in [specific industry, e.g., manufacturing] is strongly preferred. Medical devise exposure would be great.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
