Accountant (On-Site - Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30p)

Who we are: Link Associates is a non-profit providing services and support to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Founded in 1953, Link has provided over 70 years of exceptional services to Des Moines and the surrounding areas. Link offers the most services of any provider in central Iowa including Residential, Day Habilitation, Supported Employment, Hourly SLC Services, Transportation, Therapeutic Recreation, Health Services, Representative Payee and Case Management.

Position Summary:

Perform general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing and SSI for Persons Served. Assist with systems management, data entry, maintenance of spreadsheets, calculating and checking to ensure accuracy of records, and managing petty cash. This position will be key in processing semi-monthly payroll for 300 employees including setting up and administering all benefit (medical, dental, vision, 403B…) and other payroll deductions.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares monthly billing and reconciliation, payroll, benefits and employee time tracking.
• Maintains accounting databases and benefit portals.
• Responsible for preparation and verification of bank deposit transactions.
• Submit invoices and oversee the collection of accounts receivable for contracts, rental properties, and respite services
• Coordination of benefits and services for persons served in vocational programs.
• Ensures payments by verifying the accuracy of Medicaid coding.
• Resolves disputed claims by researching, verifying, and providing additional information.
• Reconciles bank statements by comparing statements with the general ledger.
• Verifies financial reports by running a performance analysis software program.
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis and other duties as assigned.
• Represent Link Associates to internal and external stakeholders, persons served and the community in a professional manner.

Required Education and Experience:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience in accounting.
• Prior experience with ADP Payroll and Dynamics 365 highly desired.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Medicaid billing experience is a plus.

Every person served by Link Associates has the primary diagnosis of intellectual disability and frequently other intellectual and physical conditions as well.
